Position: Electrical Engineer -
Level II
Description: This
full-time position is responsible for the design, testing, and development of
electrical systems and components for underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs),
search systems, topside support systems, and other equipment involved with the
offshore industry. This position works under the technical supervision and
guidance of the electrical engineering manager. This is primarily an
office-based position but some offshore travel is required for testing and
supporting offshore equipment. This position is located in Largo, MD.
Duties and Responsibilities:
 | Designs, develops, and troubleshoots electronic systems and components for
ROVs |
 | Integrates sensors and instruments to ROVs |
 | Develops and tests prototypes of designs |
 | Develops documentation packages to support new designs or modifications |
 | Upgrades legacy electrical hardware to current performance standards |
 | Works in a team environment |
 | Designs, develops, and troubleshoots high power transfer and distribution
equipment |
 | Interfaces with ROV crews and technicians to address technical issues |
 | Works under the technical supervision of other engineers as needed |
 | Travels occasionally including some offshore time |
Requirements:
 |
BS in Electrical Engineering
|
 |
5 years of component level electrical engineering design
practice
|
 |
Extensive knowledge of analog and digital systems
|
 |
Knowledge of high voltage, power transfer, and power
distribution
|
 |
Knowledge of signal processing methods
|
 |
Knowledge of a variety of microprocessor / microcontroller
systems
|
 |
Knowledge of data transmission protocols and methods
|
 |
Knowledge of C / C++ or other high level programming language
|
 |
Experience with ORCAD or other PCB / schematic design software
|
 |
Experience with hands-on assembly and prototyping including
surface mount soldering
|
 |
Interest in the marine industry and robotics systems a plus
|
 |
Must be physically able to travel to all Phoenix facilities and
to remote locations anywhere in the world if required, including shipyards,
ships, and offshore platforms.

 | Must be able to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance |
