Position: Electronics Technician - LA
Description: The Electronic Technician will report to
the Senior Technician and/or the ROV Supervisor and will participate in the
operation, repair and maintenance of the ROV system and its subsystems. The
position requires the technician to work in a team environment and to handle
assignments independently. The position is based in Bayou Vista, LA. and may
require worldwide travel on an emergency call out basis. This position will be
expected to work safely a minimum of 12-hour a day shifts when on board ships at
sea or at a dock and may require work in the shop facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
 | Participates in the Phoenix safety management system to achieve the
zero-accident goal |
 | Complies with company policies and safety standards |
 | Participates in and maintains their training. |
 | Responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing the
remotely operated vehicle (ROV) system, the launch and recovery system (Lars)
and the other associated subsystems |
 | Maintains logs, records, and documentation updates |
 | Pilots and Copilots ROV |
 | Operates ROV manipulators |
 | Assembles rigging equipment |
 | Effectively handles all watch standing requirements of ROV systems |
Requirements:
 |
Associate degree, two (2) years, of formal
electronic-training, or equivalent work experience of two (2) years |
 |
Field experience, two (2) years, troubleshooting,
maintaining and repairing sophisticated electronic systems i.e. computers,
microprocessors, A/D, D/A converters, CCTV, sonar and control, circuits to the
board level |
 |
Familiar with and able to troubleshoot high voltage
generation, control and switching equipment |
 |
Knowledge of digital and analog systems |
 |
Knowledge of fiber optics |
 |
Understand the use of test equipment i.e. oscilloscopes,
electrical and optical TDRs high voltage meggers, logic and frequency
analyzers, spectrum analyzers |
 |
Ability to read and troubleshoot from schematics |
 |
Computer competence in Windows environment |
 |
Ability to carry out tests and assignments with little to
no supervision |
 |
Attention to detail |
 |
Good organizational skills |
 |
Team Player |
 |
Understands offshore rigging and safety practices |
 |
Must able to travel worldwide, on short notice for
indefinite periods of time |

Must able to walk unassisted and carry 75 pounds |

Must be able to see and/or hear equipment readouts |
