PHOENIX SUPPORTS US NAVY ADS 2000 CERTIFICATION

Friday, September 8, 2006 -- Washington, DC -- Phoenix International, Inc., (Phoenix) announced today its participation in achieving material certification of the US Navy’s one-atmosphere diving system, ADS 2000.  The ADS 2000 is a critical component of the Navy’s next generation Submarine Rescue and Diving Recompression System, SRDRS.  Phoenix is Prime Contractor for the maintenance and support of SRDRS.

Three ADS 2000 suits were successfully dived to their operational depth of 2000 fsw offshore Pt. Loma, CA earlier this month.   The dives demonstrated the ADS 2000’s ability to meet stringent Navy safety requirements, and ended an eleven-year, multi-organization effort to achieve this milestone.  Cmdr. Keith W. Lehnhardt, OIC Diving Systems Support Detachment, Submarine Development Squadron 5, Detachment, San Diego, was the Officer in Charge of the project.  The ADS 2000 was developed in Vancouver, British Columbia by OceanWorks International.
