Phoenix operates three classes of work ROVs in support of the submarine cable industry.

Each family of vehicles are designed to cost effectively serve different requirements.  The multi-purpose Remora ROVs are ideal for performing pre-lay photo-documentation along potential cable routes, taking third-party post-lay depth of cable or pipeline burial measurements, and supporting hard bottom assessments.  For the heaviest submarine cable / pipeline work requirements, Phoenix offers the 200 horsepower Triton® 210 and 400 horsepower SMD Nereus II ROVs.  Both PLIB systems can operate in either a free-flying or tracked mode; perform in high current conditions, and automatically detect and track buried cables and pipelines.  These systems possess the diversity to perform heavy duty intervention tasks as well.

All ROVs are operated by skilled personnel with significant hands-on experience in cable installation, repair, and cable system maintenance operations.

Phoenix and IT International Telecom (IT), Canada have formed an alliance by which Phoenix provides ROV operations support to supplement IT's submarine cable installation and maintenance.  The alliance provides for an improved international logistics support capability as well.
