Phoenix Awarded Submarine Rescue Contract - click here
|
| Phoenix maintains an on-call capability to perform underwater repair and maintenance actions on USN and commercial ships, offshore platforms, and underwater structures (offshore or inland). In-water repairs and equipment change-outs are made with the vessel needing repair either pier-side or at anchor. Fourteen US Navy or ABS certified underwater welding procedures have been developed for welding base metals, modern alloys, and some of the more advanced metals. Procedures exist for mild and high carbon equivalent steels, aluminum, nickel, nickel-copper and copper-nickel alloys, stainless steel, monel, and such high yield strength steels as HY-80. A full, fly-away underwater repair capability consists of crews of highly qualified welder / divers armed with wet and dry chamber welding procedures, fully equipped and self-contained diving vans, and design engineering support to include the capacity to fabricate welding habitats pier-side. Phoenix holds the US Navy’s 5-year Diving and Diving Related Services contract for the worldwide performance of underwater repairs, development of welding and rigging procedures, and provision of surface supplied air, mixed gas, saturation, and one-atmosphere diving capabilities. |
