Norfolk Facility

The Norfolk facility is Phoenix International’s east coast hub providing operational support for our US Navy Diving Services Contract as well as various commercial/governmental clients. Our client list includes Navy, Coast Guard, east coast ship repair facilities, underwater component OEMs, and other government and commercial customers in the extended Tidewater area. Additionally, Phoenix personnel at the Norfolk complex operate and maintain Navy’s Government owned / Contractor operated Underwater Ships Husbandry Support Equipment housed at the facility.  

Opened in January of 2005, the Norfolk office of Phoenix International is situated in a 40,000 sq ft compound six miles east of Norfolk Naval Base. The facility includes an 1800 sq. ft. machine shop used for maintenance of diving equipment, construction of cofferdams, and a variety of other projects.

Specific operations performed by Phoenix from the Norfolk office for our Navy and Commercial customers include:

  Underwater Wet and Dry Hyperbaric Welding
  Topside Welding
  Cofferdam Design, Build and Installation
  Hull Inspection and Failure Analysis
  Rigging, Maintenance and Repair of Ship Underwater Components 
  Engineering
  Underwater Construction Diving Operations Support
