Engineering Support of Underwater Operations

Phoenix Engineering provides timely, practical solutions for underwater operations ranging from pier side ship husbandry to deep water accident investigation. Phoenix engineers have on site experience that drives practical tools for divers, ROV operators and customers with special requirements.

OPERATIONS PLANNING

Attaching equipment to a ship for deploying an ROV or attaching a habitat requires multiple levels of engineering planning and analysis. Phoenix provides the design documents for classification society review and the installation.
Efficiency and timeliness often drive us to commercial off the shelf (COTS) solutions that we adapt to the marine environment.

Analyses that Phoenix Engineering performs include:

Naval Architecture for the Ship Motions and Deck Load Analyses
Power Design for Electric and Hydraulic Equipment
Stress Analysis of Lifts (Air and Subsea)
   Special Training Systems
   Control and Telemetry Design
Others, As Required by the Operation

UNDERWATER SHIP HUSBANDRY

For UWSH repairs to be permanent and to be class society approved requires engineering of both the repair and the procedure for making the repair. Phoenix engineering provides drawings, specifications, and procedures that meet class society requirements to ensure approval, and provides practical solutions based on our UWSH experience.

Phoenix engineers have the ability to work above and below the waterline as many are trained professional divers. Our engineers have performed critical analysis and design from damaged vessel repairs to manned habitats. In support of repair operations, Phoenix provides turnkey services with our engineers working alongside our divers to complete designs, write repair procedures, and when needed support operations on the pier and in the water. Phoenix has engineers located in our East coast home office and West coast offices, enhancing our ability to respond to customer needs.
